Hyderabad, January 09 (INN): Over 55,000 candidates appeared for the Diploma in Education (DEd) paper-I held across the State on Sunday.
According to Teachers Eligibility Test Director Sheshukumari, nearly 67.82 per cent candidates appeared for the DEd exam held on Sunday. Of 81,957 candidates who registered themselves for the test, 55,584 candidates attended the exam.
Talking to media persons after completion of first paper for DEd candidates, the Director said that 23,373 candidates did not turn up for the examination. She stated that the highest percentage of attendance was registered in Vizianagaram district with 95.47 while the lowest percentage was registered in Guntur district with 53.06. As decided earlier, the candidates who came late even by one minute were not allowed to enter the examination hall, she said.
The director said the test was passed off peacefully across the 2100 centres in the state and no untoward incident was reported from any centre. The government was making all arrangements to release the TET results by January 28, she said. (INN)
