Girls outperformed boys in the SSC advanced supplementary examinations held in June, the results of which were announced by the officials on Saturday.
Releasing the results at the Secretariat, School Education Commissioner Shiv Shankar said that the girls’ registered a pass percentage of 57.42 and while the boys percentage was 51.85 per cent. He said that the overall pass percentage of students stood at 53.84 per cent.
Compared to June 2010 examinations, there was an increase of 10 per cent students clearing the June 2011 examinations, he pointed out.
The School Education Commissioner released the results due to absence of Secondary School Education Minister K Parthasarathy.
