Hyderabad, August 05: Over 50,000 employees of different PSU banks in Andhra Pradesh would participate in a two-day All India Bank Strike on August 6 and 7 under the aegis of United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU).
Centralised rallies would be held in connection with the All-India strike and bank employees and officers working in Hyderabad would participate in a rally tomorrow at Bank Street in Koti here while a protest would be held at Gun foundry hereon August 7, UFBU convener K Ramakoteswara Rao said.
According to Rao, the forum comprising nine unions/associations of different PSU banks and some old private banks are going on the agitation seeking fulfillment of their long pending demands that include immediate resumption of negotiations, wage revision, pension option and appointment on compassionate grounds.
The wage revision is due from November 2007, while pension option should be made uniform as certain section of bank employees enjoy its benefits, he said.
