Over 46,000 candidates abstain from Inter exams

As many as 46,943 or 5.24 per cent candidates abstained from the Intermediate Public Examinations held across the State on Thursday.

As many as 817,005 General and 79,090 Vocational candidates appeared for the Telugu paper –II, Sanskrit paper-II, Hindi Paper-II, Urdu paper – II and Arabic Paper – II. The authorities have booked a total of 12 cases of malpractice across the State.

While 547 candidates reached the examination hall between 8.45 AM to 9 AM, none came around 9 AM.

The Board of Intermediate Education had sent Observers to Nalgonda, Medak, Ranga Reddy, Mahaboobnagar, and Hyderabad Districts. In Sri Chaitanya Jr. College, Buchirajapalem of Visakhapatnam C.No. 02118, a candidate who is indulged in malpractice with the help of Bluetooth built in a wrist watch was caught red handedly by the room invigilator and a case is booked under malpractice.

All the Regional Inspection Officers were instructed to see that the Xerox machines in the Colleges, Schools and Degree colleges attached to the examination centres and other Xerox centres in the vicinity of the examination centres remain closed during the examination hours with the help of the local MRO and Police officials. All the chief superintendents were instructed to provide lighting facility in all the rooms during examination.

The examination has been conducted peacefully without any untoward incident. (INN)
