Chennai, March 26: A total of 1,879 nominations were filed today on the last day of filing of papers for the April 13 Tamil Nadu assembly elections.
In a statement, the Election Commission said 4,280 nominations have been filed since the election process was set in motion on March 19.
Till date, Chennai district registered the highest number of 387 nominations with 191 filed today, it said.
Tiruppur North Constituency registered 182 nominations today, it said.
Tamil Nadu goes to the polls along with Puducherry and Kerala.
