Over 30 MLAs raise public issues in Zero Hour

As many as 32 MLAs raised different issues of public importance during the Zero Hour in the State Legislative Assembly on Thursday.

MIM MLA Virasat Rasool Khan alleged that some organised gangs have been selling drugs near the premises of city schools. He said that some instances of cocaine concealed in chocolates being sold to school children have come to light. He said by arresting some foreign students and Tollywood actors, the City Police was trying to given an impression it was acting tough against drug dealers. He demanded that the government take stern action to stop sale of drugs in the city.

Secunderabad MLA Jayasudha demanded construction of a new building for Chilkalguda Municipal Market. MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi demanded that the government provide infrastructure for the new building of Unani Hospital at Charminar. BJP MLA G Kishan Reddy asked the government to forumlate a sub-plan for the welfare of SCs and STs in the State. TRS MLA Vinay Bhaskar requested the State Government to take up the issue of Railway Coach Factory at Qazipet with the Centre. He said the factory was announced in 2009-10, but no steps were taken to start the same.

Ministers – Ponnala Lakshmaiah, K Parathasarathy and Kanna Lakshmi Narayana replied on behalf of the government and assured the MLAs that the issue they raised would be referred to the ministers concerned. (INN)
