Kuwaiti authorities seized more than 10,000 pornographic and other obscene CDs in just few hours during a raid on shops as part of a crackdown on illegal stuff, a newspaper in the oil-rich Gulf emirate said on Thursday.
The raid covered 15 video and computer shops in the capital Kuwait City and was conducted by law enforcers from the Ministry of Information, which has been locked in a campaign to fight counterfeit CDs and indecent films.
“The raid resulted in the seizure of more than 10,000 obscene CD films and shop owners were arrested and referred to the competent authorities,” the Arabic language daily Alwatan said.
