Hyderabad, December 12:Out of the 580 Hospitals located within the limits of GHMC, only 149 have NOC (no objection certificate).
This was stated here today by the HGMC Commissioner Mr Krishna Babu. He told the media that notices were issued to all the Hospitals which were not having the Certificate, to take immediate steps to provide adequate fire safety system within one months time, or face action.
It may be stated that the ghastly fire accident in a Kolkota Hospital few days ago, which claimed the lives of 90 persons, has awaked the authorities on the need for ensuring adequate fire safety measures in the Hospitals and other major establishments within the capital.
Mr Krishna Babu also said that inspections would be conducted from Tuesday of buildings which housed Malls, Hotels, Function halls, Hostels and commercial complexes , to assess whether proper fire safety measures were in place or not; and to take action against the defaulters who did not adhere to the prescribed norms.
