OUJAC Telangana-cycle yatra from Octber 19

Hyderabad, October 02: The Osmania University Students Joint Action Committee (OUJAC) would be embarking on yet another yatra of the 10 Telangana districts before launching their struggle for separate statehood after December 31, if necessary. The JAC leaders will seek the support of the people of Telangana for their struggle and also console the families of those who laid down their lives during the movement.

OUJAC leaders said the ‘Telangana Praja Cycle Yatra’ would start from the Arts College on the OU campus on October 19. “Two teams of OUJAC each comprising 150 members will be touring the south and north Telangana regions as part of the yatra. We will be garnering the support of the people for the struggle we are going to launch after December 31,” OUJAC leader P Kailash said.

Simultaneously, the OUJAC members would be visiting the families of those who had laid down their lives during the statehood agitation. “We would also seek the support of the employees and policemen of the region by asking them to take up pen down and gun down programmes respectively,” he said. The yatra would culminate at the Arts College on November 1, the AP Formation Day, which the OUJAC would be observing as ‘Betrayal Day’. A public meeting would be organised on that day.

After December 31, the OUJAC threatened to block the entry points to the region at Kodad (in Nalgonda), Alampur (Mahabubnagar) and Sattupally (Khammam).

Meanwhile, the OUJAC extended its support to the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial meetings which would be held in the 10 districts of the region by the Congress Action Committee for Telangana, which is a forum of Congress leaders from the region.
