OU Students tries to seize the CM’s residence demanding KG to PG Education

The Osmania University NSUI students staged a protest outside the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s residence here on Saturday demanding the immediate implementation of KG to PG education policy. The NSUI has given a call to observe junior colleges bandh on Saturday.

The students clashed with the police when they tried to barge into the chief minister’s house during the protest. Mild tension prevailed in front of CM’s house before the students were taken into custody.
The police shifted the students to Punjagutta police station. Besides implementation of KG to PG policy, protesting students accused some private colleges of charging exorbitant tuition fee.

Speaking on this occasion, NSUI leaders demanded the government to abolish the colleges, which have no recognition and reduce the fees in private colleges and schools.
On the other hand, students staged Dharnas in front of Collectorate office across the Telangana State. As part of protest at Khammam Collectorate, the students and police indulged in jostling. Left parties affiliated student Unions staged dharnas at Mahabubnagar, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Adilabad and Nalgonda districts. The police arrested the student leaders who resorted to dharnas. (NSS)
