Hyderabad: For the first time, Osmania University College of Engineering students have designed, fabricated and successfully tested Radio Controlled Unmanned Aircrafts.
Along with their fabrications, a team of students and faculty member, Dr V. Uma Maheshwar participated in the SAE ISS Aero Design Challenge 2019 held at Chennai.
Three independent teams of seven students each have developed different unmanned aircraft named ‘Phoenix’, ‘Pegasus’ and ‘Gryphons’ under the guidance of OUCE faculty Dr Uma Maheshwar, according to a press release.
The SAE ISS Aero Design Challenge was held at SRM Institute of Science and Technology from July 19 to 21. The three aircrafts designed and fabricated by the OUCE students include Phoenix (Aircraft No ADC 20190231), Pegasus (Aircraft No ADC 20190232) and Gryphons (Aircraft No ADC 20190233), the release said. The OUCE Unmanned Aircraft team received appreciation from the Chairman, Society of Automotive Engineers, Southern Section, Dr Shanmugam and Dr. Senthil Kumar, Convenor, Aero Design Challenge 2019.
