Seeking to press the TRS government on its proposal to regularize services of contract and oursourcing employees, the Osmania University students in the name of Unemployed JAC today met Telangana Congress president Ponnala Lakshmaiah at Gandhi Bhavan and appealed to him to take up the issue with the government and mount pressure against the regularization.
Ponnala, who was busy reviewing Khammam district Congress party position in the recent elections, came to them heard their appeal. Later, he said he would support the just demands of the students seeking jobs. The JAC, in a letter addressed to Telangana Political JAC Chairman Prof. Kodandaram and Telangana State government, demanded cancellation of contract job system and take up fresh ones to fill vacant posts through notification by TSPSC.
It also urged the Telangana government to bring down retirement age limit from existing 58 years to 56 and help younger generation to get jobs on time. The TJAC should impress upon the Government to withdraw its proposal to regularize contract employees, otherwise they would launch a movement against the government, they warned. (NSS)
