OU semester exams postponed to Dec 18

Hyderabad, December 07: The Osmania University post graduate semester (I and III) examinations have been postponed from December 8 to December 18 following a representation by the OU Students Joint Action Committee (OUJAC) on Monday.

The OUJAC leaders said they could not prepare for the examinations due to the agitations for separate Telangana and other related issues.

Though the student activists wanted the examinations to be conducted only in January, the University authorities postponed the examinations only by 10 days.

The University authorities said the fresh timetable can be accessed on its official website, osmania.ac.in.

Students of Arts and Science colleges boycotted classes, took out a rally and met the Vice-Chancellor Prof T Tirupathi Rao and submitted a representation asking him to postpone the examinations.

“We wanted the examinations to be conducted only after the cases against the students are withdrawn,” OUJAC spokesperson P Kailash said.

The OUJAC leaders reportedly sought the postponement of the examinations till January as they feared that the University authorities might close down the hostels soon after the examinations in view of the separate Telangana agitation which might pick up after December 31.
