Tension prevailed in the Osmania University when the Akhil Bharathiya Vidhyarthi Parishat (ABVP) activists obstructed the students’ protest against the arrest of students of Delhi Jawaharlal Nehru University. The Osmania University students launched agitation here on Saturday. Friction took place between the ABVP activists and the students, who staged protest by burning the effigy of the Central Government.
It may be recalled that the friction started between the students of JNU, Delhi University when a section of the students organized a rally supporting the hanging punishment to Afzal Guru and another section of students organized a rally opposing it leading to friction between the student unions. Reacting on it, the Delhi Police arrested a student, who participated in a rally opposing hanging of Afzal Guru, who played key role in attacking the Parliament Bhavan and made slogans against the country.
Protesting the arrest of JNU student, AISF, SFI and PDSU activists organized a rally in Osmania University today. While knowing this, the ABVP students obstructed the rally leading to verbal war and friction between the activists of ABVP and other students’ organizations. (NSS)
