OU refuses permission for Rahul Gandhi’s visit to campus

Hyderabad: As expected, the Osmania University has given a shock to the Congress party by declining permission to the proposed visit of AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi, showing security reasons.

The University Estate Cell Joint Director replied to the permission letter submitted by the PhD Research Scholar in Telugu Department named K Manavatha Roy, who was also TPCC official spokesperson, stating that “The Osmania University has declined the request made by student organizations regarding Mr.Rahul Gandhi’s visit to OU due to security issue as he is under special security coverage.”

The Estate Cell Joint Director sent the same copy to the secretary to the University Vice-Chancellor, PA to the University Registrar, PA to the University OSD.

Speaking on the occasion, student leader Manavatha Roy alleged that the government denied permission to the visit of Rahul Gandhi to Osmania University where Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was not in a position to put his leg in the University premises. The University Estate Cell joint director declined the permission to Rahul meeting to be held at Tagore Auditorium while showing security reason with the force from KCR.

It may be mentioned here that the research scholars and PG students have applied on August 4 seeking permission for the visit of Rahul Gandhi on August 14.

However, the TRS party affiliated student wing TRSV warned Rahul to enter into the University only after tendering apologies to the people of Telangana and rubbing his nose at martyrs statue at Gun Rock. They also made it clear that they will obstruct Rahul’s visit to University. (NSS)
