OU post-graduate entrance results out

Hyderabad, June 18: Osmania University has released the post graduate courses entrance test results here on Wednesday. Admissions to PG courses of three other universities — Telangana University at Nizamabad, Palamuru University at Mahbubnagar and Mahatma Gandhi University at Nalgonda — will be done through these ranks.

As many as 68,704 candidates (69 per cent) have qualified for the 52 PG courses, K. Pratap Reddy, Director, Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University, said.

A total of 1,21,799 candidates applied for the OUPGCET-2009 out of which 99,789 candidates appeared for the tests held from June 1 to 15. The results were released by D.N. Reddy, in-charge Vice Chancellor, Osmania University. Of the 68,704 qualified candidates, 45,211 candidates were men and 23,493 were women.

Counselling for the courses will begin on July 1 at Nizam College. Candidates who have qualified will receive their rank cards and call letters soon, added Prof. Pratap Reddy.

Prof. Reddy pointed out that students who qualified in the exam would have a chance to opt for colleges not only under OU but the other three new varsities too.

The demand for M.Sc. Chemistry was quite evident as the course received 25,400 applications for just 1,500 seats. Over 3,000 applications were received for the Bachelor’s of Communication and Journalism- double of which it received last year.
