National Service Scheme, Osmania University celebrated the birth anniversary of late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as “Rastriya Ekta Diwas” today on the OU campus.
On the occasion, “Run for Unity” was organized from University College of Engineering to University College of Arts & Social Sciences, OU Campus, Hyderabad. OU Registrar Prof. K. Pratap Reddy flagged off the Run and R. Gokulakrishnan, Youth Officer & Head, NSS Regional Centre was the guest of honours. Senior functionaries of NSS, Professors of OU, Administrative Officers, Students participated. Prof. B. Reddya Naik coordinated the event.
Later in the day, the National Unity Day celebrations were organized at Prof. J. Ananth Swamy Administrative Building, OU. The Registrar Prof. K. Pratap Reddy administered “Rastriya Ekta Diwas Pledge” to the members of the staff and spoke on the occasion. OSD to VC Prof. R. Nageswar Rao, and Prof. B. Laxmaiah, Dean Students Affairs, OU highlighted the importance of the day and its significance. (NSS)
