The Directorate of Placement Services, Osmania University on Wednesday launched the 10–Week Certificate Course in “International Banking Services & Operations” by M/s. Stratadigm Education & Training Pvt. Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, Director of Placement Services Prof K.V. Achalapathi briefed the requirements of the banking industry and explained the students that they need to take the 10 week programme as a challenge and come out in flying colors at the time of interviews. He said that the students should turn out to be banking professionals at the end of the training programme for which they need to invest time, do hardwork and to be punctual to all the classes to gain maximum returns.
In his presidential remarks, Prof.G.Laxman, Head, Dept. of Commerce, University College of Commerce & Business Management, Osmania University congratulated the students who were shortlisted to attend the training programme based on the written test. He asked the students to take full advantage of the programme to face the radical changes occurring in the competitive world. He said that in the 10-week training programme in addition to the exposure in the international banking operations, it would help them to overcome human flaws. He said that such programmes would inculcate employee behavioral approach which is the vital success parameter of an organization.
Prof Laxman cited the example of Mcdonalds where employee satisfaction is rated as an important parameter in its appraisals. He asked the students to concentrate on working g communication skills which would ultimately lead to overall development. He asked the students to be punctual to the classes as they can improve their speed and accuracy within reasonable time as they will be groomed by experienced trainers.
Prof. V. Shekhar, Principal, University College of Commerce & Business Management, Osmania University addressed the students on banking operations which is a core area in financial services. He stressed the importance of human approach in banks. He shared his industry experiences where he worked as a consultant to State bank of Hyderabad, Andhra Bank etc. He advised the students that having knowledge alone enough is not sufficient but it needs to be clubbed with sincerity and hard work. He quoted the mantra of success lies in application of theoretical concepts in day to day life. He cited the example of how ABC analysis wherein high value goods come under ‘A’ category, medium value goods come under ‘B’ category and low value goods come under ‘C’ category. Just – in – Time (JIT) can be applied in our activities. He also advised the students that apart from gaining core concepts and other skills; they need to practice their body language which would take them in being an altogether a different person.
Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.Satyanarayana congratulated all the students for having been selected to undergo the training for 10-weeks on “International Banking Services & Operations” free of cost. Taking a cue from the gaps being cited at the University – Industry Meet, the training programmes are being conducted. He said that since syllabus cannot be changed continuously, the University is proactive and accordingly training programmes are being conducted as per the Industry requirements. He said that the University is ready o conduct many programmes as to the benefit of the students provided they have seriousness to such programmes. He said that the opportunities are high, demand is high but Industry is absorbing the candidates who are meeting certain requirements. He said that the outcome of the current training session would have a great impact on the subsequent batches. He asked the students to improve their level of confidence and have thirst for knowledge.

The Office of the Directorate of Placement Services have reached out to the M.Com final year students of Dept. of Commerce, O.U., Nizam College, University College of Women, PG College, Secunderabad for the requirements of Stratadigm Education & Training Pvt. Ltd. They have shortlisted 47 students from 175 candidates of Campus & Constituent Colleges of Osmania University for their Train-n-Hire Program as per the screening test conducted on February 25.
