Osmania University Teachers’ Association has openly opposed the decision of Govt. of Telangana for the acquisition of 11 acres of land of Osmania University Campus. In order to consider this issue, a meeting of Osmania University Teachers’ Association will be held tomorrow, Public representatives, Old students and the present students of Osmania University will be invited to the meeting. After careless consideration, a common strategy would be evolved. President of OUTA, Prof. G. Satya Narayana told that it is the responsibility of the Govt. to protect University lands but Govt. itless wants to acquire University lands.
It may be noted that University of Hyderabad had decided to give 200 acres of land to care foundation which resulted in mass protest in 2006 and as a result of which, the university withdrew this proposal.
