OU JAC gives call for Ednl Institutions Bandh on Feb 23

Protesting against the suppressive attitude of the state government on proposed Telangana JAC unemployment rally, Osmania University JAC has given a call for the educational institutions bandh on February 23.

 

On Wednesday, tension prevailed in the Osmania University when police has  not allowed the  rally to be  taken  by the students to extend their support to the Telangana JAC proposed unemployment rally. The police also detained several students and obstructed the efforts of the students who  tried to organise the rally. Protesting against the arrests, Osmania University JAC demanded the state government to release the leaders immediately.

 

Earlier, a student named Sandeep Chamar tried for self immolation at Arts College gate. He poured  petrol on his body and tried to lit the light for self immolation. The alert police detained the student.

 

The students tried to organise a rally and they reached to NCC gate where the police obstructed them leading to jostling between the police and students. The students have gone back to their hostels. Later, some students reached to Tagore Auditorium and burnt the Osmania University Centenary Celebrations ‘Kaman’ erected there. The fire staff reached to the spot and controlled the fire. The police reached in big numbers to Tagore Auditorium. (NSS)
