OU JAC complains against Chiru to CBI

The Osmania University Students JAC has complained to the CBI that the union minister Chiranjeevi resorted to misuse of funds in the name of World Tourism Conference.

Members of the JAC came to the CBI office in Kothi and gave a written representation asking for probe to the JD Lakshmi Narayana. They alleged that public money was misused on a large scale in the UNWTO conference held in corporate hotels Park Hayat and Taj Falaknuma. They said just for a three-day conference, an amount of Rs. 14 crore was doled away to the star hotels, by the Tourism ministry¸ headed by Chiranjeevi. They demanded a comprehensive investigation against Chiranjeevi.

The students tried lay a siege to the residence of Chiranjeevi on Thursday night. When they tried to burn an effigy of the union minister, Jubilee Hills police arrested and released them on personal bond.

Speaking on the occasion OU JAC official spokesperson Krushank said they got the expenditure incurred in the conference through the Right To Information Act and found that a cup of tea cost Rs. 1200 and meals a plate Rs. 3,500.

He has charged that Chiranjeevi spent public money as water. Alleging that there was largescale corruption in the organization of the conference, he has demanded Chiranjeevi’s resignation, owning moral responsible for it.
