OU JAC today filed a petition with the Lokayuktha urging for protection of the University lands, in the background of the Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s decision to take over 11 acres of land for construction of houses for the poor.
In the petition the OU JAC pleaded that it was not proper to take away OU lands. The University is an autonomous body and nobody has any power to construct houses for political gains or giving the lands to private individuals.
Minister for Higher Education, Chief Secretary to Government Principal Secretary, Education. OU Vice-chancellor and Registrar were made the respondents in the petition. (NSS)
