OU Executive Council approves Rs. 424 crore budget

Executive Council of Osmania University approved a budget of Rs. 424 crore for the financial year 2014-15. This is Rs. 95 crore more than the previous budget. This has been proposed to undertake developmental works. Prof. S.Satyanarayana, VC of OU told this yesterday. He gave the details of the educational activities of last year and the developmental works to be taken up next year. Present on this occasion were the members of academic senate and other officials besides the members of the Executive Council.

Prof. Satyanarayana told that various plans have been prepared to make the university compatible with the modern times. He informed that a PG College is being setup in Jogipet in Medak District with a budget allocation of Rs. 22 crore. He also told that Osmania University has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the College of Air warfare of Indian Air Force. He informed that OU is making an attempt to provide facilities to the students of international level. Present on this occasion was Mr. K. Pratap Reddy, Registrar of the University. Prof. Satyanarayana introduced the new members of academic senate which includes Prof. V.V. Basawa Rao, Prof. R. Nageshwar Rao, Prof. T. Sankar Shana. Prof. Satyanarayana told that during the past three months, OU conducted seminars and lectures on various topics. In order to make examination branch modern, applications of online valuation are being issued.
