Hyderabad, April 07: With the City limping back to normalcy, the final-year degree examinations (BA/ BSc/Bcom) of Osmania University are all set to begin from April 7 onwards.
The exams, earlier scheduled from March 31, have been postponed due to the communal tensions in some pockets of the City. Nearly 3.5 lakh students, belonging to the affiliated and constituent colleges of Osmania University, would appear for the exam tomorrow.
“We have consulted the police personnel before taking a decision. We anticipate that the examinations this time should be conducted without any hitches,’’ Prof BS Rao of Osmania University said and added that the exams would be held in 257 centres spread over twin cities and near by districts. He also informed that out of the 257 centres, 140 centres are located in the City, while 117 centres are in nearby districts.
As per the schedule, the exams would begin on April 7 and end by first week of May.
In a related development, the Osmania University administration would announce the dates of PG entrance examinations for admission into various postgraduate courses for the academic year 2010-11 on April 7.
