OU contract employees to go on strike: Four unions serve notice to VC

Hyderabad: Contract employees of Osmania University who have been working on temporary basis for the past 28 years decided to protest demanding regularization of their services.

The leaders of four Unions met the VC and handed over the notice for strike. They decided to go on strike with effect from Monday 3rd July. They demanded that the services of all the contract employees should be made regular. They have been agitating for the past so many years but administration did not pay heed to it.

Secretary of Telangana CPI, Mr. Ch. Venkat Reddy addressed a letter to CM demanding to resolve the issues pertaining to contract employees. He mentioned that due to non-availability of provident fund, health cards and other facilities, the contract employees are facing a lot of difficulties
