Tension prevailed on the Osmania University Campus on Thursday when the OU Students JAC tried to organize ‘Student March’ to extend support to the Telangana March on September 30.
However, the alert police personnel obstructed the students march at the NCC gate when they tried to gatecrash. The police did not allow the students even as they assured the police that their rally will be peaceful. Police officials said there was no permission for taking out any rally from the OU campus. The students squatted at the NCC gate and raised slogans against the State government. The students picked up arguments with the police officials to allow the rally.
A TV channel cameraman was injured when the students pelted stones at the police personnel. The police shifted him to a nearby hospital immediately. Police also lobbed teargas shells at the students to disperse them. (NSS)
