Hyderabad, December 03: Taking the lead to widen the struggle for Statehood, the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OUJAC) Wednesday decided to take up agitation programmes in all educational institutions across the Telangana region.
The OUJAC leaders are preparing strategies to strengthen the movement by involving more students.
The panel today gave a call for students in all educational institutions — especially in the Osmania, Kakatiya, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi and Palamooru Universities to wear black badges and take out black-flag rallies.
Other programmes have been chalked out. On December 4, dharnas will be held at the offices of mandal revenue officers and mandal development of ficers. A mass letter-writing campaign will be launched on December 5 urging the prime minister and the chief minister to announce a separate State.
The OUJAC leaders said further measures would be deliberated upon after gauging the reaction to their peaceful programmes.
Earlier, the OUJAC representatives met Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy seeking action against the police officials responsible for the attack on students on the campus a couple of days ago. They also demanded withdrawal of all cases registered against students across the State during the agitation.
The OUJAC representatives urged the home minister and other people’s representatives from the Telangana region to take up the issue in the State Legislative Assembly and pass a resolution for a separate State. The matter should be duly represented to the Congress high command, they demanded.
