Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) issued an eviction notice to the Superintendent of Osmania General Hospital (OGH) since the building is in dilapidated condition and needs repairs.
It may be mentioned that Govt. of Telangana had included the building of OGH in the list of dilapidated structures and made a promise for its renovation.
A few days back, a portion of the roof of the hospital had fallen down.
GHMC took immediate action and issued this notice.
Some time back, the staff of the hospital protested for not getting the building repaired. As a mark of their protest, the staff performed their duties wearing helmetsinside the hospital. The Dept. of Health warned the staff against such agitation.
It is reported that the heads of many departments of the hospital opposed the shifting of the wards. They stressed the need to get the building repaired.
