Angul, May 23: A leading businessman here has been abducted by unidentified persons in this Orissa district, police said.
Niranjan Pradhan, President of Chendipada Truck Owners’ Association, was abducted by unidentified men when he was out for shopping last night, police said quoting a complaint lodged by Pradhan’s family.
The family claimed to have received a phone call later demanding Rs 50 lakh ransom for Pradhan’s release, police said.
Police were examining various possibilities, including business rivalry, behind the abduction.
