Hyderabad: Government has decided to declare optional holiday for Eid-e-Ghadeer on September 21. Earlier the optional holiday was declared on September 20 but according to the Islamic calendar, the day corresponds to September 21, hence the holiday has been declared on September 21.
Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma issued GO RT 2063 on Tuesday in this connection. The GO stated that, sending letter to Chief Executive Officer Telangana Waqf Board, the members of the Shia community had demanded that the government move the optional holiday from September 20 to September 21. Hence this decision has been taken.
