Hyderabad, July 03: Taking strong exception to the Opposition parties’ criticism of the State Government decision to constitute an advisory committee on public safety and security headed by Rajya Sabha member and the Chief Minister’s close friend KVP Ramachandra Rao, the Congress Legislature Party Thursday urged them — particularly the TDP, CPI and CPM — not to resort to “mudslinging’’ against the government.
Addressing a press conference at the CLP office Thursday, Government chief whip Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with MLCs R Padma Raju and G Rudra Raju, lashed out at the Opposition for demanding disbandment of the committee. They asserted that it was a temporary committee and there would be no remuneration/ perks for members. It was “meaningless’’ for the Opposition to say that there was no role for the Home Minister in the committee and that Ramachandra Rao would become an “extra Constitutional authority’’.
“TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, CPM state secretary BV Raghavulu and CPI state secretary K Narayana were indulging in false propaganda against the Congress Government out of jealousy,’’ they said.
