The Telugu Desam Party, left and the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy immediately sack those Ministers, to whom the Supreme Court has served notices, in connection with disproportionate assets case of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, TDP leader K E Krishna Murthy asked the ministers to submit resignation from their posts owning moral responsibility for apex court issuing notices. He said that the tainted Ministers have no moral right to continue in the Cabinet until they get clean chit from the court.
Krishna Murthy feared that they might tamper with the evidence influence witnesses if they continue on their posts. He appealed to the Chief Minister to initiate stern action against 11 senior bureaucrats, who were were issued notices by the Supreme Court in connection with disproportionate assets case. He warned the government that the TDP would intensify agitation against the Ministers and IAS officers until the government drop them from their posts.
CPI MLA Sabhasiva Rao demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy immediately dissolve his Cabinet and go for mid-term elections as many of his Cabinet colleagues were found involved in various scams. The tainted Ministers have no moral right to continue in their posts and they should go to people’s courts in elections, he said.
CPI(Marxist) Floor Leader Julakanti Rangareddy demanded immediate resignation of Ministers from their posts immediately. BJP Floor Leader Lakshminarayana demanded that the government immediately respond on the Supreme Court notices in the House and suspend the ministers from the cabinet.
Lok Satta president Jayaprakash Narayan called upon all Opposition parties to unite on this issue and mount pressure on the government to discuss the issue in the House. (INN)
