Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao today expressed displeasure at the Opposition parties for their efforts to stall the irrigation projects. “The opposition parties should stop cheating the people for their political mileage”, he suggested.
Talking to media persons here on Saturday, Nageshwar Rao accused the Opposition parties of misleading the people and creating hurdles to the development in the State. The Opposition should support the welfare schemes and developmental programs in the State, he suggested. He asserted that the government was committed to design the changes of the projects to increase preservation capacity. “We accept better designs to the existing designs of the projects. Bhakta Ramadasu Project will be launched this year to distribute irrigation waters to drought hit areas”, the minister maintained. He said Khammam district stood first in the implementation of the lakes revival program in the first and second phases under Mission Kakatiya program in the State. (NSS)
