Opposition DMK boycotts Governor’s address:stages walk out

Chennai, January 30: The Opposition DMK today boycotted Tamil Nadu Governor Dr K Rosaiah s maiden address to the State Assembly by staging a walk out from the House. When the Governor rose to deliver his customary address to the House, DMK floor leader M K Stalin alleged that relief works had not reached the affected people in tje cyclone Thane -hit areas. He also alleged that there has been increase in crime rate in the city and the Law and order situation had deteriorated. After the ruling AIADMK members raised objection, Mr Stalin led the DMK members out of the House. Mr Stalin said the DMK was boycotting the Governor s address by staging a walk out. This was Dr Rosaiah s first address to the State Assembly after he assumed office as Governor a couple of months back.
