Hyderabad: Probably stepping into his father Chief Minster K Chandrasekhar Rao’s shoes, Panchayat Raj and IT Minister K T Rama Rao today lost his cool and blasted the Opposition saying that it will be kicked out if they continued to malign the image of the government of corruption. He also threw a challenge that he would quit politics if the Opposition leaders prove any corruption involved in the flagship program of water grid.
KTR launched a pylon for the water grid project at Modegaon village under Diwalapur mandal of Adilabad district along with Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy, Jogu Ramanna and other local leaders. KTR ridiculed the Opposition for seeking respect from the government after accusing the government of indulging in corruption and irregularities. “If they give us respect, we will reciprocate otherwise we will not keep quiet and jerk them out”, he fumed.
KTR also charged Congress leaders with not bothered about farmers’ plight during their regime and now conducting Bharosa yatras for political mileage. “We, the TRS leaders, will not indulge in corrupt activities like the Congress leaders, who used to prepare projects plans for the sake of civil contractors and kickbacks”, he said. “The Panchayat Raj department will live up to the expectations of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to complete the projects”, he said. He also complained that the Centre was not giving funds for the Telangana projects for which the State government was spending Rs 35,000 crore and got Rs 20,000 crore funds from various institutions. “We will lay 1.25 lakh km pipeline and set up 50 water purifying centers to complete the project to supply 100 liters of water to every household.
The PR Minister also reiterated that they would not ask for votes from the people if they failed to supply drinking waters in three years. The TRS government will complete the projects in 60 months while the Congress did not do them in 60 years, he said. “We will also provide nine-hour power supply to crops from next March and construct permanent buildings for Anganwadi centers in the State. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has guts and will keep the promise of supplying safe waters to every household in three years”, he asserted. KTR lashed out at the Opposition for its remarks of alleged corruption in the Water Grid program which an intention to malign the image of the TRS Government. The Government was ready to spend Rs 4000 crore for providing safe waters to Adilabad district. (NSS)
