Stating that Telangana people and farmers are voluntarily supporting the Kaleshwaram and other irrigation projects in the State, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today suggested that the Opposition should open their eyes and support the same for growth.
The minister slammed the Congress for trying to disrupt the public opinion meetings. The jealousy Congress has single point program of tarnishing the image of the government for false propaganda in this regard, he said, adding that the Opposition should not obstruct the projects at Green Tribunals and the courts and pave way for the speedy completion of the related works. The Government has conducted the public opinion meetings peacefully in 15 districts, he claimed. The people and farmers are blessing the TRS Government and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for long-term objective to complete water and irrigation projects, he said.
The people are coming forward with their opinion in a free environment and the government is ready to pay suitable compensation the minister said. However the congress leaders without any responsibility are trying their best to disturb the meetings of the people and farmers on the projects, he charged. The people are supporting the government aim to stop farmers’ suicides and offer them help through crop investment and build a green Telangana he said. Harish Rao cited that Polavaram public opinion meeting witnessed some untoward incidents. The government took public opinion in the presence of police security without proper inputs. However the TRS Government has recorded public opinion in meetings conducted in democratic manner in several districts. As many as 106 people came and registered opinion at Sidhipet in a free environment. At this juncture the opposition should stop cheap campaign, he added. (NSS)
