Hyderabad: Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha today ridiculed the Opposition parties for lacking common sense and knowledge on irrigation projects.
Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan, the TRS headquarters, here on Saturday, Kavitha charged the Opposition with resorting to mud-slinging at the government. The TRS leader appreciated CLP Leader K Jana Reddy for admitting that the Congress did not reach any agreement with Maharashtra to construct 152 mt tall reservoir on Tummidihatti. “At least now, the rest of the Congress leaders, including TPCC Chief Utham Kumar Reddy and others, should follow suit and stop witch-hunting the ruling party”, Kavitha suggested. She took serious exception to the Congress leaders for stating that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has signed for 148mt tall reservoir and also the TS failed to achieve anything after signing pact with Maharashtra on constructing reservoirs on Godavari and other rivulets.
The previous Congress and TDP governments did not bother about Lower Penganga project and left the farmers and people of Adilabad in grief, she said. Now, the TRS Government’s historic agreement with Maharashtra, will ensure water to the irrigation needs in North Telangana and other districts, she said, adding that Congress showed interest on mobilization advances rather than focusing on projects. She also flayed the TDP leaders like L Ramana writing letters without any content. “Revanth Reddy should mind that his party high command is stationed at Amaravathi and should speak on Telangana after seeing its map”, she added.
The TRS leader said the Telangana BJP leadership should not make a hue and cry on delimitation of districts and instead exert pressure on the Centre to accord national status to Kaleshwaram project. Medigadda project will sure transform the lives of the farmers as also it is possible to give waters to Nalgonda projects. (NSS)
