Oppn nervous over development works: Harish

Minister for Assembly Affairs and Irrigation, T Harish Rao today criticized that the Opposition is getting envious on speedy development works being taken up and making deliberate attempts to thwart them in the State for false prestige. The minister also said that the flagship program of Mission Bhagiratha is an ideal scheme at national level and other States were trying to emulate the same.

During a debate on the Budget at the Assembly on Wednesday, the minister spoke on the Mission Bhagirtha program, which will be completed to offer safe waters to each household in rural pockets. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had said that he will not seek votes from people if he failed to give waters through Mission Bhagiratha, he said, adding that the Chief Minister has such a commitment to complete the projects and schemes while the Congress leaders are trying to stall the works for political mileage.

Harish Rao launched a broadside accusing the Congress of failing to digest the speedy completion of the projects and development programs and creating hurdles through filing false cases. He fumed at the Congress for trying to misguide the Courts, Assembly and the people of the state by such cases with forgery signatures. “This is unbecoming for the Congress to make frequent obstructions to the irrigation projects”, he alleged.

However, the TRS Government will go in for completing its prestigious projects, the flagship programs of Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya and others. “We will supply safe and potable waters to each household through Mission Bhagiratha”, Harish Rao said. The Government is going ahead for achieving the goal of Bangaru Telangana, he said. (NSS)
