TRS leader and State Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Niranjan Reddy today charged the Opposition parties with indulging in anti-development politics against the development of the State.
Addressing the media at party headquarters Telangana Bhavan here on Wednesday, Niranjan Reddy launched a blitzkrieg at the Opposition for making a needless hue and cry on the Mallanna Sagar project. The Opposition was bent on trying to stall any sort of developmental works in the State and also was trying to stall the works on the projects which make the dry lands into green, he charged. While the farmers are wholeheartedly coming to hand over their lands for the highly beneficial Mallanna Sagar project, the jealous Opposition parties were trying to provoke the ruling party and indulging in anti-people politics, Niranjan Reddy alleged.
The Opposition has no knowledge of the projects and trying to confuse the people besides provoking the farmers to be affected, he fumed. The State government has time and again clarified that it would offer better compensation to the displaced farmers under the project. The previous Congress government completely ignored the irrigation projects in Telangana and expeditiously completed projects in the Andhra region, he charged. The Congress never put a spoke to the projects in AP but swiftly ignored the plight of the Telangana region. Niranjan Reddy also assailed Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy, who did not participate in the statehood movement for his political fortunes, was trying to spike the development in Telangana by trying to malign the image of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao with bogie of corruption on projects. He advised the Opposition parties to realize their follies and abstain from playing with the lives of toiling farmers and people. (NSS)
