Agriculture Minister P Srinivas Reddy today slammed the opposition leaders for their October 10 bandh call demanding one time settlement of crop loans.
Talking to reporters at Secretariat here, Srinivas Reddy said the Bandh has no public support. He made a mockery of the opposition for their Saturday bandh, a mere useless force on the people. Those leaders who failed to bother about the plight of the farmers earlier, are now taking up protests and ‘Bharosa Yatras’. There is no public bharosa on these leaders, he charged. The Government is committed to waive off the crop loans and despite the promise, the opposition was making a hue and cry for farce politics. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao time and again said that the TRS Government is getting ready to take a final call in this regard, he said.
Though the Congress, Telugu Desam and BJP join hands, people will not support them, he said. The Agriculture Minister also said that the people are not participating in the bandh. If the TD and its ally the BJP are so committed, they can ask the Centre to give financial assistance to Telangana Government to waive off crop loans at one go, he suggested.(NSS)
