New Delhi: Actor Kalki Koechlin feels very lucky to be able to express things vocally or through her work about various issues that concern the world.
The fearless actor very well knows the fact that her every word counts, every word has the caliber to make headlines, trolls and to fetch reactions from people but she also agrees to the fact that she plays safe on twitter regarding the feedbacks.
“I think I have been pretty lucky. I have expressed things pretty vocally about what I feel through my work or through social media. Of course, there are criticisms, you get a lot of trolling, people will put you down and stuff but I also think that just comes within the territory of being a celebrity,” Kalki told ANI in an exclusive interaction.
“I have become very protective of myself on twitter, I don’t read negative stuff. I believe that one should have a certain confidence to be an actor. I consciously don’t look at the feedbacks I get after a film releases. I welcome criticism from friends and people who know me but not from strangers,” she continued.
The ‘Margarita With A Straw’ actor believes that being an actor requires confidence and a lot of self-love, adding it is better to be protective about oneself over the social media.
Explaining the reason behind the same, she said such comments can be very distracting for stars as the actor starts concentrating on his or her next project by the time a film releases.
And if one starts spending the entire day thinking about their last work reviews then they won’t be able to do justice to their present projects.
“I will make my present work suffer if I keep thinking about the reviews I have received from the people and I would never do that,” said the 32-year-old.
Kalki, who will next be seen in ‘Waiting’ with Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor, is presently working on Konkana Sen’s directorial debut. (ANI)
