Midnapore, March 07: Huge contingents of combined security forces have been posted throughout the border between West Midnapore
district and Orissa as preparations for Operation Green Hunt began last night, a senior police officer informed today.
The entire border will be sealed so that no influx from the Orissa
side to this district is possible, he added.
Maoists frequently use the border between Orissa and West
Midnapore district and cross it via Kankrajhore forest.
It isbelieved that Maoist leader Kishen Ji, along with his bodyguards,
is lodged in or around Lakaisini forest on the foot of Dalma Hills.
However, there is also a possibility that they have crossed over to
an area on the Orissa-Jharkhand border, the police officer
underlined.
Meanwhile, a severe gunbattle between the combined forces and
Maoists continued throughout last night at Mohulboni village under
Lalgarh police station, SP, West Midnapore, MK Varma said. Details
of injured or casualties are not yet available, he added.
