Amazon.com is seeking an outstanding Data Engineer to join Amazon.com’s Business Intelligence team. The Amazon.com Business Intelligence team delivers business intelligence to over 1000 internal customers, and a diverse community of external customers, from one of the worlds largest and most complex data sets. Responsibilities:
Amazon.com Business Intelligence is a fast paced environment where every day brings new challenges and new opportunities. As a Data Engineer working on the analytics platform, you will be implementing and supporting the analytic technologies that give our customers timely, flexible and structured access to their data. You will be challenged with a variety of tasks, ranging from server administration to metadata modeling to UI design. You will interact with customers to gather requirements and structure solutions. Design, implement and drive adoption of new analytic technologies and solutions. Promote industry standard best practices. Interface with business customers, gathering requirements and gaining a deep-dive understanding of key datasets. Tuning application and query performance against large, complex data structures.

You love working with analytic tools, providing a comprehensive platform for customers to access their data; understanding your customers challenges, you can partner with customers to invent great solutions, and you are an advocate for your customers. You are analytical and creative, and you dont quit. You should also have the following skills or experiences:
Preferred Qualifications:
Retail knowledge
Engineering or CS degree
Minimum of 4 years experience in the BI reporting function
Data modelling skills
Reporting tools – OBIEE or industry standard tools
Internal ORACLE DB Concepts, Performance tuning
Distributed Technologies (Hadoop, EMR, HIVE).

Advanced data analysis skills e.g. pivot tables
Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures.
Ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
10 years of relevant employment experience
Excellent written and verbal communication and data presentation skills
