Job Description:
General Responsibilities:
* Support the Infrastructure Program Manager and RMW Project Managers to develop work plans and implement all district based activities
* Act as a clear communication channel between project managers, district teams and beneficiaries
* Attend and represent ACTED RMW on district related meetings
* Supervise district repair team and ensure they operate in a timely and efficient manner
* Ensure technical quality of works
* Assess the technical abilities of skilled Syrian Cash for Workers
* Conduct the selection and rotation of unskilled Syrian Cash for Work volunteers
* Coordinate with logistics team regarding stock request and return
* Ensure stock requests are appropriate for the repairs intended and there is no misuse of supplies
* Communicate effectively with district WASH committees and ensure a strong relationship
* Closely cooperate with community mobilization team
* Share experiences and lessons learnt with other RMW Site Supervisors to develop best practices
* Support the project manager to review strategies and improve the effectiveness of the project
* Support the project manager in Tier 3 related repairs by supervising contractors in ACTED and non-ACTED managed districts
* Coordinate and supervise RMW operations in KAP & CC Refugee Camps in coordination with ACTED KAP & CC Program Coordinator
* Actively support implementation of Phase I Wastewater Network project in relevant district
* Supervise Wastewater Network O&M if necessary
* Supervise water tanks disinfection if necessary
* Supervise other WASH R&M activities if necessary
* Actively support RMW program development with engineering knowledge and previous experiences
* Actively participate in preparation of WASH R&M expertise and assessments
Skills:
– Experience and Education
* At least 3 years experience with construction, plumbing or facilities management (essential)
* At least 1 year demonstrable experience in team management (essential)
* Engineering degree in technical field: civil, water, mechanical, electrical or systems engineering (essential)
– Skills:
* Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
* Fluency in Arabic and good knowledge of English
* General technical knowledge in construction field
* Strong communication skills
– Required attitude:
* Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends when necessary
* Ability to work under pressure and in a stressful environment
* Pragmatic and patient
* Genuine interest in improving the quality of life of Syrian refugees
* Sense of humour
