The Role
Our client is one of the largest western manufacturers of PV solar modules in the world. They’re looking for a Director of Operations & Sales to head up their Sub Saharan Africa division, working out of South Africa. The job entails driving sales & operations for the region, with full P&L responsibility. You will be responsible for Sales, Sales Operations, Logistics, Finance and Office Services, offering management, support and guidance to the multinational team in the regional HQ. A strong emphasis on business growth including sales and business development is also a feature of this role. The salary for the role starts at EUR 120,000 per year and comes with an excellent performance based bonus scheme.

Requirements
The client is looking for international candidates in the African market, or those willing to relocate to South Africa.
Experience in regional sales and operations specific to Sub Saharan Africa is an absolute must, and any local language skills (such as Afrikaans, French or Dutch) are a major bonus.
In order to be considered for the role, you’ll bring to the table at least 10 years of experience in the solar module market, with the last 5 of these being spent in a management position driving sales and reporting to a board of directors.
A strong educational background is essential, and a bachelors degree in either an economics or engineering based subject is a must. Special consideration will be given to candidates possessing an MBA or a renewable energy specific masters qualification.
Personality wise, you will be determined and with a strong drive to succeed. Proactive, pragmatic and reliable under pressure, you’ll thrive on new challenges and have an eye for a business opportunity.
