The Role
Our Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) team works with clients to manage their capital agenda to drive competitive advantage and increased returns. As part of a global team of 10,000 professionals in 100 countries you will advise clients on preserving, optimizing, raising or investing capital. Major groups (or, as we call them, sub-service lines and competencies) within TAS include Mergers and Acquisition Services, Project Finance & Infrastructure, Restructuring Services, Operational Transaction Services, Transaction Support, Corporate Finance Strategy, Transaction Tax, and Valuation, Business Modeling, Real Estate Project Management and Economic Advisory.
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior in our Corporate Finance Strategy (CFS) team in MENA. CFS focuses on helping clients in their strategic decisions such as portfolio and growth strategies for the regional family businesses; inbound entry/expansion decisions for global corporate clients; commercial/business due diligence for private equity and sovereign wealth funds and inbound corporate clients; evaluation of greenfield investment, partnership/JV/franchising, divestment and other such strategic decisions; and privatisation and corporatisation decisions for governments. CFS consultants typically work directly with the C-Suite on their strategic and transaction decisions.
The Transactions Advisory Services practice focuses on advising clients on their capital agenda –investing, raising, preserving and optimising capital. We source, design, structure, evaluate and execute acquisition, investment, divestment, financing, privatisation, restructuring and listing decisions for our clients.
Responsibilities
•Develop and analyse business plans and pro-forma financial models to help identify key assumptions and drivers behind the business forecasts.
•Think like an entrepreneur and use creative techniques, analyses and presentations to answer clients’ most important questions.
•Execute various analyses (e.g., customer requirements, market sizing, competitor analysis) for the purpose of understanding the impacts of these analyses on the target’s forecast.
•Design and facilitate in-depth interview programs with key company stakeholders, industry experts.
•Design statistically relevant consumer research, monitor its execution by third party research companies, and analyse results to derive conclusions relevant to client’s key questions.
•Perform secondary research using a variety of business sources (e.g. analyst reports, market research reports, press clippings).
•Support the project from initial data collection and analysis to creating final client deliverables that meet EY quality standards.
•Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services and help document the engagement procedures performed against objectives.
•Support the CFS Sector Leader and managers in building high quality client relationships, developing sharp points of view, developing winning proposals, and developing sector focused thought leadership.
•Build and maintain relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels and other EY TAS teams on the engagement.
Requirements
Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must have:
•A bachelor’s degree and approximately 2-3 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience.
•A degree in business, economics, or engineering and a strong academic record; other majors will be considered on an individual basis. An MBA is a significant advantage.
•Approximately 1-2 years of work experience in strategy consulting, private equity, investment banking, market research.
•A keen ability to conduct detailed analysis of industries including value chains, products, markets, competitors, customers, channels, supply chains – from financial and operational perspectives.
•Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis and the ability to synthesise findings and link them to client issues.
•Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Executive presence.
•A dedication to teamwork and commitment to staying at the cutting edge of knowledge in focused industries.
The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel, when necessary. Estimated travel is approximately 25% of the time.
