Opening for Analyzer Technician in Qatar

Job Description:
Reports to the Nominated RasGas Maintenance Supervisor.
As directed, carries out maintenance of on-line analysers & sampling systems and associated devices including
troubleshooting of failures, validation and calibration to retain them in functional and good operating order for
reliable performance.
Ensures compliance with PPM requirements and prepares records of validation/calibration data and details of
maintenance activities carried out.
Highlight & report any anomalies and diagnose & repair of faults & breakdowns
Assists in co-ordinating with Laboratory to resolve discrepancies between on-line versus Laboratory sample
analysis and verification of calibration gas composition when in doubt.
Submits reports on incidents and failure investigations as and when required.
Participates in acceptance tests of new and upgrade systems, identifies deficiencies and provides punch list.
Ensures safety of personnel and equipment through compliance with companys Environmental Health and
Safety policies, procedures and standards.
Experience, Knowledge and skills
Educational Qualifications: Minimum Higher Secondary School Education with a technical diploma or certificate
from a recognized institution.
Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience with a minimum of 3 years in on-line
analysers in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.
Computer Skills: Computer literate with knowledge of commonly used Microsoft business software packages
would be advantageous.
English Language Skills: Good written and oral communication skills in English.
Job Specific Requirements:
Good knowledge of field instruments, gas & liquid sample conditioning techniques and analytical principles
such as chromatographic separation, UV & Lead Acetate based H2S measurement, IR / UV absorption,
continuous emission monitoring systems, aluminium oxide & piezoelectric moisture, paramagnetic and
zirconium cell based oxygen and principles behind pH, conductivity, ORP & dissolved oxygen is essential.
Should have hands-on experience preferably with Yokogawa (GC 1000) and / or Siemens (Maxum Edition II)
gas chromatographs, Ametek H2S, SO2, moisture & oxygen, Galvanic Applied Sciences H2S, Panametrics
moisture and physical properties analysers such as vapour pressure, electrochemical analysers and associated
sample conditioning.
Good knowledge on calibration of various types of gas & liquid analysers and usage of test equipment.
Should be able to troubleshoot failures, problems and issues with sample systems, gas chromatographs,
spectrophotometric and moisture analysers.
Should be able to understand Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, Loop Drawings and
Cause & Effect, simple function block & logic diagrams.
Familiar with a permit to work system and LOTO procedures.
Installation, calibration, testing and commissioning of on-line analysers in a diversified oil & gas processing,
LNG or petrochemical plant.
Good adaptability to multinational environment with wide exposure to various cultures and customs.
A strong focus on safety is paramount and practical know-how of permit to work systems and lock out
procedures applicable to LNG / Petrochemical plants is required.
Familiar with and experienced in working with H2S rich process.
