By mining in the north Telangana area, underground water is getting affected and the environment is getting affected and the environment is getting polluted. Due to continuous mining of coal is damaging the ecology of Telangana area.
These thoughts were expressed by various experts in the colloquium organized by Telangana Resource Centre on the topic of “Open cast mining in North Telangana and its effects”. Various experienced persons highlighted the damages the open cast coal mining is going to cast.
The intellectuals who participated in the colloquium blamed the capitalists of Seema Andhra regions who exploited these natural resources of Telangana region. The speakers were: Mr. P. Yadagiri, Convener, Telanganan Aikyakarya Charan Committee, Mr. Ch. Prabhakaran, Secretary, Telangana Peoples Front, Mr. P. Ravindra, General Secretary, Vaidyanathual Vedika, Mr. Mohammed Anwar, State Joint Secretary, Human Rights Forum, Mr. S. Murali and others. The speakers expressed their concern on the coal mining in North Telangana and deplored the quietitude of the political parties. Mr. M. Ved Kumar, President of Telangana Resource Centre welcomed the guests.
