Former Minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Wednesday claimed that only Congress party could bring development in Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons here, Shabbir Ali said that it was AICC President Sonia Gandhi who turned the dream of Telangana into a reality and therefore, the entire credit for Telangana formation goes to the Congress party. He said that the Congress has put its existence in Seemandhra region at stake to grant statehood for Telangana. He hoped that the people of Telangana region would endorse the sacrifices made by the Congress party to fulfill the demand.
Shabbir Ali refused to comment on the possibilities of Congress party’s alliance with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He said the decision on alliances would be taken by the Congress High Command. He thanked Sonia Gandhi for nominating him as the Co-Chairman of Campaign Committee in Telangana.
Earlier, he called on former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, who has been appointed as the Chairman of Campaign Committee in Telangana. (INN)
