Reservations can ensure the development of the Muslims in the fields of Education and Employment and also can eradicate poverty. These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily while addressing a delegation from Koratla, Kareem Nagar which had come to Hyderabad to congratulate him for starting the campaign for 12% reservation to Muslims. The delegation also congratulated Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily for leading this campaign.
Continuing his speech, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told the delegation that for the success of any movement struggle is essential. He pointed out that with passion and struggle if people become emotional, it might create hindrances in the movement. He further told that this campaign is in progress in a very constructive way. He apprised the delegation the importance of the recommendations of BCs Commission and said that except BCs commission no other Governmental organization is authorized to recommend reservations. Court does not accept recommendations of any other organization. He told that the Muslims deserve reservations on the basis of their educational and economic backwardness. To assess the backwardness of Muslims, BCs Commission is the only competent authority. He advised the delegation to intensify this campaign and requested it to present memoranda in a very cordial manner. He also mentioned that the majority of the Muslims depend on daily wages. The percentage of graduates among the Muslims is less than the depressed classes. The educated Muslim youths are perturbed with the lack of employments. They are getting backward day by day.
Observing the response of the Muslims for 12% reservation campaign, he said that God willing, it will meet with success. The delegation of Koratla was led by Mr. Mohammed Mobeen Pasha, President of Bar Association of Koratla and co-opted member of Koratla Municipality. The delegation included Mr. Mohammed Nayeemuddin, President of Jamat-e-Islami, Kareem Nagar, Mr. Mohammed Abdus Saleem Farooqui, Correspondent of Siasat Urdu Daily, Koratla, Mr. Mohammed Najeebuddin, President Empowerment Forum and TRS Leader, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Musawir, Correspondent of Sahafi-e-Deccan, Mr. Mohammed Shujauddin, Mr. Mohammed Zaheeruddin and others.
In Nizamabad a delegation led by Mr. Mushtaq Husain Ansari presented a memorandum to Panchayati Raj Minsiter, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao at Gram Panchayat Office, Domkonda. In Shadnagar, a delegation led by Mr. Abdul Alem presented a memorandum for 12% reservation for Muslims to Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy, President of Telangana Congress Committee. He assured the delegation that he would raise this issue in the Assembly. In Nalgonda, Maulana Syed Khaja Muhamiduddin, President of Safa Baitulmal, met the Joint Collector and presented a memorandum to him. In Suryapet, a delegation led by Mr. Mohammed Irshad presented a memorandum to RDO. In Adilabad, Senior Journalist, Mr. Shafi Ahmed presented a memorandum to Joint Collector. In Tandoor a delegation led by Mr. Mohammed Basith, President of Muslim Welfare Association met Tehsildar and presented a memorandum to him. In Kobair, Mr. Ameen Patel, Correspondent of Siasat Urdu Daily led a delegation and presented a memorandum to Mr. B. Vithal Reddy, MLA of Mudhol demanding the implementation of 12% reservation for Muslims after getting proper recommendations from BCs Commission.
